Purpose, Passion & Mission - there IS a difference!

If I asked you what your purpose in life is, how would you answer? Are you able to say it right off or do you need to think about it? Here is a defining question - would you respond with a description of the kind of work you do or WANT to do? Would you respond with your feelings about your family or some charitable work you do? Is your response vague?

There is much misunderstanding when it comes to defining these three areas of our lives. When I finally understood what my purpose in life is, my purpose for being here, it was incredibly profound. I previously had different descriptions of my purpose and passion and at the time they were described the same way - because I DIDN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! So I want to share some of my revelations that are impacting my life in a very meaningful way.

Your purpose is NOT the same as your passion/s. It is also not the same as your mission in life. But they all three support each other. If you get clear about what your purpose is, what your passions are, and what your mission in life is about - you can move mountains.

Purpose. This is an inner entity. It is the essence of you. It is who you are at a core level.

Passions. This is an expression of you. It is how you show the world who you are.

Mission. This is another expression of you. It is how you show YOU who you are.

Here are some examples:

My purpose is "to elevate". What that means is that my soul wishes to raise the energy of every encounter I have. To raise people's spirits, to raise up to a higher state myself and everyone I interact with. This is the driving force behind my passions and my mission.

My passions are personal development, music, health and happiness. These are the things that I love to experience and they are the arenas in which I do my work. These are the actions through which people can experience me.

My mission is to inspire everyone to create their own amazing lives. This is the "energy" that I put into all my actions. It is how I experience myself.

Having a clear understanding of who you are and why you do what you do is something that MOST people will never experience. Instead, they live like a pinball bouncing around from idea to idea, circumstance to circumstance.

If this is NOT what you want in your life then JOIN ME for a free teleclass where I will guide you through these processes so that you will clarify and define your own true PURPOSE, PASSION & MISSION in life.Click here for class description

Magical moments

From homeless guy to traveling minstrel.

Recently my husband and I were in NY City for vacation. We had a wonderful time, saw two Broadway shows, a play and a musical. One of the shows, The Addams Family, was a one of a kind experience! During a scene with Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane one of the stage lights exploded sounding like a staged gunshot. Both of the actors broke character and had a little fun with it as did we and the rest of the audience. It was one of life's magical moments.

We went apple picking with our nieces and nephew and as I was candidly filming the youngest, she slipped in apples on the ground. She wiped her hands on some of the other apples, then on the leaves on the tree and then finally finished it off by wiping her hands on her shirt. Again, one of life's magical moments.

These are the moments that are amazing. There is surprise and wonderment in our everyday existence not just in the big events. Our everyday experiences shape our lives in ways that the big events do not but they are often taken for granted and not fully experienced! But we expect those moments anyway and we know that they mean something good.

However, there are times when an experience comes our way and we give it a meaning that prevents us from truly experiencing it in the fullest way. In fact it could have happened on the subway the day that my husband and I were leaving NY City. A very tall, homeless, black man stepped onto the subway car and announced to everyone that he was going to ask for our assistance. "If you can help bless you and if you can't bless you too. Enjoy the music." Then he tilted his head back, closed his eyes and began to sing "Just my Imagination". I put money in his hat and started singing along with him, and encouraging him on. We sang three songs and the people were very generous with him. Before we left the train we high-fived and he called my husband "Mr. Lucky".

How amazing was that moment in time? How different could it have been perceived? How differently could we all have acted? Some people see him as a scary homeless guy - I saw a "traveling minstrel" ..and another one of life's magical moments.

Before he sang the third song he said, "What would the world be like if we all cared about each other? Not loved, but just ...cared?" and started singing "A Change is Gonna Come". Amazing moment that I will remember forever. I'm glad I chose to be present for it.

Well, my friends great news! I am leaving Friday morning for a vacation with my husband. We are going to New York City to see family and visit Manhatten. Of course we will see a broadway play - we have chosen "The Addams Family" - yes, The Adams family is going to see The Addams family - how fun!

One of the places we will visit is a beautiful place called the "Cloisters" which apparently is a castle that was dismantled and brought to this country. The gardens are very pretty I hear. If anyone has been there let me know how much you enjoyed it.

We are also going to "Pure Food & Wine" which is a RAW restaurant and has won awards - voted one of the top 100 restaurants in NY City (not categorized as raw or vegetarian they won on the merits of the restaurant having great food). Can't wait!

I will be out of touch for a week ....yes I'm REALLY going to try and make it a total vacation, but I look forward to getting back and having more discussions with everyone. I will send pictures to facebook though so if you want to "visit" NY with me make sure we're friends on facebook.

Create an AMAZING life!

....and check out the 4 Keys to an AMAZING life Telecoaching program

Consistency, the key to brilliance

I am going to "out" myself here. My biggest struggle over the years has been with consistency and it showed up in many areas of my life. Nothing was consistent in my life as a child or young adult. In fact, the home I have lived in now for nearly 7 years is the longest stretch I have ever lived in one home. The relationship I am in is the longest I have ever been involved with someone.

The effect of inconsistency makes life and business harder than it needs to be. For example, you might find yourself repeating work because you don't have a consistent system to retain work you have already completed or started. Or you might lose an idea because you don't have a consistent system in place to save it.

Through the last few years as a business owner I have become keenly aware of the need for consistency and have begun to be deliberate about my daily routines. I created a system that keeps me on track by designating entire days to a part of my business. So, I have a day just for the Thrive Teacher program, a day for Girlfriend Mentors, a day for music, a day for speaking and a day for writing. The amount of work that is being managed now is amazing. And, the opportunities for brilliance are abundant.

I also created a folder system for each of the days. Let's say I am working on a music day but I get a really great idea for speaking, I simply write it down and place it in my speaking folder so that I can work on it when it is "speaker" day. each day I pull down the folder that I need for that days work and I have all of my notes from the week prior and any ideas that came up over the week.

By working deliberately, methodically and consistently you will get so much more done. And even by having a consistent system in place to handle your moments of brilliance you will achieve so much more than you might believe right now. Having a consistent structure underneath you, a "foundation" will help you develop in ways you cannot imagine.

Think about all your brilliant moments that have vanished. You didn't write it down, record it, call your answering machine, etc. What system would work for you on a consistent basis? Try several of them out and choose the one that you believe you will use reliably. Don't allow one more brilliant idea to fade into nothing.

As the world enlightens!

Recently I was traveling to speak at a conference and started up a conversation with a woman. I noticed that she wanted to talk about what was wrong with each topic we covered. I decided to have some fun! When she complained about how her traveling was going, I shared how my traveling had led to some big "adventures". With a big smile on my face, I shared that they had closed Miami airport due to thunderstorms and we had to go to Dallas for a while - which resulted in my getting into my hotel in Miami at 3am the night before I had to speak at 9am! Just one of life's adventures not something to fume over or stress about.

It was fun to watch her catch on and begin to talk about the good in things too. In Jack Canfield's book, The Success Principles(TM): How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be he has a section called Drop Out of the Ain't it Awful Club - this is such a big concept! Think about it - so many people want to complain as their way of sharing about their life. I recently read that it is hard-wired into us to notice the negative. Our ancestors had to know what was potentially harmful. This paradigm is shifting. Now we know that focusing on the negative is definitely harmful! As we ALL begin to shift our attention to what is good, what is right, what will serve the higher good, our continued path to an enlightened and peaceful world will be the reality. How could it be otherwise?

My friends and family all know that I am an extreme optimist. In her book, Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out, Marci describes the process of being happy for no reason and I understood then what my "good attitude" was all about. My happiness isn't tied to everything going my way or the need to feel euphoric. I am happy no matter what happens. Do I feel other emotions? Of course. But the point is that whether I am angry, sad, hurt or frustrated it doesn't take away my sense of an underlying state of happiness. The good news is that she also shares how to create the state of being happy for no reason. This is another concept that we humans can use to further our enlightenment and to share with others in a healthy and positive way.

I am not so polyana as to believe that everything is wonderful or right in the world but I am conscious to the process of focusing my attention to what is good and right in the world to make it grow. It has helped me to create harmony in my life and it will help you too. One of the processes of Enlightenment is focusing on the good and helping others do the same.

Author's NOTE: Links generally have an affiliate link attached.
Dancing on the Skinny Branches

Good Morning Girlfriends!!
It seems totally crazy that it has been less than a year ago that I had a complete re-direction for my life's path. I have to share with you that I feel like I am out there dancing on the skinny branches - yeah I know I could fall, but what excitement! I feel like I am way out in front of things and the foundation is way behind me. But, I have to keep pressing forward because the energy around what I am doing is so high right now.

In less than a year Girlfriend Mentors was born, the 4 Keys to an AMAZING Life was created, my speaking career has launched, I am being published in a book with Jack Canfield as one of the coauthors, I now have the best band I have ever had...and my family still loves me! That's a joke. Of course they love me, but I have been less available and they have been very supportive.

Girlfriends, this is fun and I want you to experience it too! Get in touch with who you really are by discovering what you are really passionate about in this life. Get connected to it, express it, share it with others, and create it bigger. Don't hold back. Take the time to ask yourself if what you are doing and how you are living is what you really want. Take some chances - get out there on the skinny branches and dance like Tinkerbell.

I encourage you tobecome a member now!

Create an AMAZING life,
Schall

A Rising New Star in the Spiritual Author Universe

Recently I’ve been telling you about a new book called Awakened Wisdom: A Guide to Reclaiming Your Brilliance by my friend and colleague Patrick Ryan. Well the book had its official Amazon launch yesterday, and I simply had to write to you to tell you that within the first few hours, Awakened Wisdom became a bestseller in spirituality in both the US and Canada.

Most impressively, the book took the Number-1 slot in Canadian spirituality sales (click to see a screen shot), and the #3 slot in self-help, sharing the very same page on Amazon with top-selling spirituality titles such as Don Miguel Ruiz’s Four Agreements, Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth and Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love. At one point, Patrick and Eckhart were dancing back and forth in the top 5 spots on the Canadian list, which is interesting because so many people have compared these two writers even before the book was released. In the US, it soared to the top of the Kindle spiritual self-help titles, reaching as high as Number 2. We’re waiting to see the paperback join it in these ranks.

Not too shabby for a first day, don’t you think?

The Awakened Wisdom launch continues today and tomorrow and, in celebration of its official release, Patrick Ryan and a group of his colleagues, including authors, coaches, entrepreneurs and spiritual teachers are giving away over 40 exceptional personal development and spiritual growth gifts when you purchase a copy the book during the launch.

One of these gifts is an unprecedented 2-session “Awakened Wisdom Virtual Experience”, in which author Patrick Ryan will take participants on a journey through the “8 States of an Awakened Life” via webcast in May. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from a world-renowned spiritual teacher—and now top-selling spirituality author.

I myself am offering an audio download that explains the 4 Keys to an AMAZING life (with a little bonus when you get to the page!).

To pick up your copy of the Awakened Wisdom, get all those free gifts, and sign up for this very special event, which is open ONLY to those who purchase the book this week, go to:

http://www.awakenedwisdom.com/Public/Amazon/BookLaunch/index.cfm

Make sure you do this as soon as possible, as the launch ends this Thursday, April 22.

Thanks for your support in helping this rising new star in the spiritual author universe shine so brightly! I wish ALL of you reading this a future where YOU are shining even more brightly.
